Mark Abbey is the director of administration and controller for Willamette Management Associates. He is resident in our Chicago office. Mark has responsibility for all accounting operations, human resource administration, and information technology for the firm. He works closely with the firm's managing directors on employee recruiting and professional staff development.
Mark has extensive experience with accounting systems and procedures, general ledger closings and financial statement preparation, treasury management, employee benefits administration, professional staff recruiting and development, and server/network/device administration. He manages all of the banking, insurance, 401k, independent accounting, and IT support relationships. His responsibilities include management reporting, determination and analysis of key performance indicators, liquidity projection models, budgets and forecasts, e-commerce operations, inventory management, and corporate taxation.
Mark's industry experience includes retail, manufacturing, and professional services.
Prior to joining Willamette Management Associates, Mark worked as controller and vice president of finance for three closely held companies. Prior to that, Mark worked in the retail industry for Sears Roebuck and Company and Montgomery Ward as a manager of financial planning and analysis. In these positions, he had responsibility for operational budgets, financial forecasts, and inventory management.
