Matt C. Courtnage is a manager with Willamette Management Associates.
Matt has performed the following types of valuation and economic analyses: business and stock valuations, merger and acquisition valuations, the valuation of tangible and intangible assets, benchmark analyses (for portfolio returns), forensic analyses, and investment risk assessment.
Matt has prepared these valuation and economic analyses for the following purposes: property tax, estate and gift tax, ESOP compliance and transactions, acquisition purchase price allocations, transfer pricing, reorganization and restructuring, bankruptcy proceedings, investment fraud, wealth management investment advising, private equity investments, third-party advisory engagements, strategic corporate finance analyses, and litigation due diligence.
Matt has valued the following types of business entities and securities: publicly traded companies, closely held corporation business enterprises, general and limited partnership interests, complex capital structures (various classes of common/preferred stock, options, warrants, convertible debt), mortgage securities, various asset-backed securities, professional practices, real estate investment trusts, and limited liability corporations.
In addition, Matt has valued the following types of tangible and intangible assets: real estate holdings, real estate developments, leases, annuities, websites, business plans, FCC spectrum licenses, goodwill, and power purchase agreements.
Matt has performed valuations for clients in the following industries: accounting, agribusiness, alternative energy, automotive, aviation, brokerage, computer servers, consulting, education, financial advisory, food products, health care providers, marketing, medical equipment leasing, pharmaceutical, power generation, printing, pulp and paper, real estate, restaurants, seafood, semiconductors, telecommunications, toll roads, transportation, and wood products.
Before joining Willamette Management Associates, Matt served as an associate for Aequitas Capital Management, an alternative investment management firm that focused on private credit, private equity, and merchant banking. At Aequitas, Matt prepared quarterly valuations of all debt and equity instruments held by Aequitas and its affiliated funds and performed underwriting duties for a variety of new investment opportunities.
Matt's other experience includes serving as an associate for Obsidian Finance Group, a hybrid private equity/advisory firm that specializes in unique, difficult, and distressed situations; wealth management advising for Courtnage Financial Services, various corporate finance roles for IBM, Lattice Semiconductor, and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals; and serving as an equities analyst for ABN AMRO.
