John Elmore is a vice president with Willamette Management Associates. He is also the leader of our intellectual property analysis services practice. His practice includes valuation consulting, economic analysis, and financial advisory services with an emphasis on intellectual property.
John has performed economic analysis on dispute matters related to patent infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, theft of software, cyberpiracy, theft of trade secrets, unfair competition, breach of contract, and business interruption. He also has performed fraud and damages analyses for matters involving false advertising, false designation of origin, embezzlement, and hiding assets. John has testified in deposition and at trial in both state and federal court as a technical expert in computer technology, an economic damages expert, and an expert in the valuation of software.
He has performed valuation, economic damages, or transfer price/royalty rate analyses related to the following intangible assets: computer software, computer databases, copyrights, customer lists, licenses, noncompete covenants, patents, and trademarks.

Prior to joining Willamette Management Associates, John was a vice president at Duff & Phelps LLC., a premier provider of business valuation, asset valuation, and financial advisory services. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, he served as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. John also has served in a number of companies and organizations in various managerial and technical roles generally involving the management, design, and programming of databases and computer systems.
